The Public Finance Group oversees all negotiated and competitive municipal bond issues, both taxable and tax-exempt, and financial advisory services for municipalities. Sterne Agee has Public Finance offices in Atlanta, Birmingham, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Lexington, Macon, Montgomery, New York and San Antonio and underwrites issues throughout the country. The firm's Public Finance professionals have the knowledge and capacity to handle all types and sizes of municipal transactions. Since 2005, Sterne Agee has served as an underwriter or placement agent in over 1,000 deals totaling $106.8 billion in par amount. These totals include senior and sole managed deals, as well as co-managed and selling group engagements.

Sterne Agee maintains trading desks in New York, Birmingham and San Francisco for the distribution of general market, bank-qualified, variable rate and retail municipal bonds. A dedicated municipal sales force covers all tiers of municipal investors from Sterne Agee's regional fixed income sales offices throughout the country.
