Ryan Medo
Head of Equity Capital Markets
Ryan Medo is the Executive Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets. He attended the University of Alabama, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Finance and later earned an MBA from the University of New Orleans. Mr. Medo was named Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets in January of 2003 and was appointed to the Board of Directors of Sterne Agee Group, Inc. in 2006.
Robert Hoehn
Head of Research
Robert Hoehn joined Sterne Agee as Director of Equity Research in 2008. He was previously a healthcare analyst at C.J. Lawrence, Bear Stearns, Salomon Brothers, and ING Barings. Mr. Hoehn was named to the Institutional Investor All-America team in 1986 and was named the top sell-side analyst by Bulldog Research in 2000. He has been the Director of Research at ING Barings, Fulcrum Global Partners, and Soleil Securities. Mr. Hoehn has a BS in Economics from Villanova University and an MBA from Drexel University.
Joseph J. Zabik
Head of Investment Banking Division
Joseph Zabik joined Sterne Agee in September of 2010 as the Head of the Investment Banking Division and Head of Corporate Development. Mr. Zabik joined Sterne Agee from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he served as a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group. During his career, Mr. Zabik has participated in numerous public and private financing and strategic advisory engagements for securities processing companies, broker-dealers, trading platforms, exchanges and clearing and financial outsourcing firms. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, he was a Managing Director in the Corporate Development Group of TD Ameritrade. In this capacity, he was responsible for analyzing the firm's strategic alternatives and managing the corporate development initiatives. Before joining TD Ameritrade, Mr. Zabik worked at Salomon Smith Barney as a Vice President in their Financial Institutions Group. He began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Paine Webber Incorporated where he was focused on Brokerage and Asset Management firms. Mr. Zabik earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude, from Kent State University in 1996 and attended Creighton University's MBA Graduate Business Program in 2004.
Richard J. Mandery
Head of Investment Banking Energy Team
Mr. Mandery is a senior member of Sterne Agee's Investment Banking Division and has extensive Natural Resources and General Industrials Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets experience. He spent a majority of his investment banking career with JPMorgan and Banc of America Securities, and most recently was a senior member of the Energy Team at Houlihan Lokey. Mr. Mandery's core experience is among the Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, Oilfield Services and mining sectors of Natural Resources, as well as select segments of General Industrials. Mr. Mandery holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BBA from Baruch College.
Robert P. Hutchinson
Head of Investment Banking Depository Institutions
Robert Hutchinson joined Sterne Agee in August 2009 as a Managing Director and was promoted to Head of Depository Institutions in October 2010. Mr. Hutchinson has over 13 years of investment banking experience working primarily with financial institutions. As Head of Depository Institutions, he is responsible for coordinating nationwide client coverage of banks and thrifts. In addition to his role as Head of Depository Institutions, he leads the firm's coverage of Mortgage REITs. Previously Mr. Hutchinson was a Managing Director with Keefe, Bruyette and Woods ("KBW") where he spearheaded their Boston corporate finance practice. During his tenure at KBW, Mr. Hutchinson lead in the execution of mergers & acquisitions, equity offerings, trust preferred offerings and mutual to stock conversion offerings. In 2006, he brought in the first Mortgage REIT deal to KBW, establishing that new business line. Mr. Hutchinson was formerly an Associate for RBC Capital Markets where he focused in an investment banking capacity on financial institutions to include leasing companies, specialty lenders, mortgage REITs, equity REITs and traditional banks and thrifts. Mr. Hutchinson served four years as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Captain. He holds a Masters Degree in Investment Finance from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University and received his B.A. in English Literature from Boston College.
Mark Behrman
Head of Investment Banking General Industrials and Transportation
Mark Behrman joined Sterne Agee in August 2007 and is currently responsible for leading the Industrials and Transportation investment banking practice. Mr. Behrman has over 25 years of investment banking experience with a primary focus on the industrial and business services sectors. During his career, Mr. Behrman has originated and executed numerous merger and acquisition transactions, equity and debt capital market transactions and private capital raises. His industry experience includes capital goods, industrial technology, basic materials, industrial distribution, industrial infrastructure and industrial/business services. Prior to Sterne Agee, Mr. Behrman was a Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at J Giordano Securities Group, a boutique investment bank focused on convertible securities. Mr. Behrman has also served as Founder and Senior Managing Director of BlueStone Capital Partners, LP and Trade.com Global Markets, Inc.; and Founder and Director of the BlueStone/AFA Private Equity Fund. Mr. Behrman began his career as an investment banker at PaineWebber, Incorporated and at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc. Mr. Behrman holds a Masters in Business Administration from Hofstra University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Binghamton University.
