Sterne Agee Serves as Senior Manager on $29,895,000 Series 2008 - An AmFund Financing 

Birmingham, AL (June 12, 2008) Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc. served as the book-running manager on the $29,895,000 Series 2008-A Alabama Municipal Funding Corporation (“AmFund”) financing that closed June 11.

AmFund is a proprietary financing program developed jointly by Sterne Agee and Thorton Farish Inc. in 2006 to provide attractive funding options to smaller municipalities who would otherwise not have access to capital markets. The program has fully drawn the initial $50 million of capacity and has subsequently acquired an additional $50 million in capacity from U.S. Bank National Association. The financing carries the Bank’s rating of Aa1/VMIG1.

Sterne Agee has served as senior manager on underwritings totaling $1.29 billion in par amount and as co-manager on an additional $1.35 billion in par amount in Alabama since 2000. In addition to its Birmingham headquarters, Sterne Agee maintains Alabama offices in Montgomery and Mobile and additional public finance offices in Boston, Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta and Macon, Georgia. During the last 12 months, Sterne Agee has served as senior or co-senior manager on issues throughout the country totaling $351.3 million in par amount, co-manager on $5.4 billion in par amount and an additional $12.1 billion in par amount as a selling group member.
